When I first started at Maid For You, I honestly thought it would be just a cleaning job. I was looking for something flexible that worked with my family schedule, and I really didn’t expect it to become something more. But pretty quickly I realized there is much more to this job.
One of my favorite parts was how different every day could be. I absolutely loved meeting new people and going to different places. Our clients live in so many different areas, and sometimes even the drive to work was something I really enjoyed—beautiful scenery, old towns, interesting houses and architecture.
I actually remember during my training driving home one evening and watching the sunset. I was tired but absolutely happy. I caught myself thinking, ‘I really like this.’
I also really like knowing that what we do makes someone’s life a little easier. It’s not just cleaning a house. Maybe because you were there today, someone can come home after a long day and spend the evening with their family instead of cleaning the kitchen or bathroom.
Another thing I really love is the way the workday feels. You are active, you are not sitting in one place all day, every house and every situation is different, and you still have your evenings for your own life and family.
And even when you work independently, you’re never really on your own. You have a team who is always ready to support you, give advice, or help when you need it. I think it makes a big difference, especially in the beginning.
I also got much more experience from this job than I expected. There is a big difference between cleaning your own house and cleaning professionally. You learn products, tools, different techniques, time management, attention to detail, and how to solve problems and make decisions by yourself.
So if someone told me, ‘It’s just a cleaning job,’ I would probably say, ‘Try to do it professionally first.’ It can be physically hard, and some days are definitely easier than others, but you learn a lot, become more independent and confident, and at the end of the day you can actually see what you did and know that you made someone happy.
For me, Maid For You became much more than the job I originally applied for. I started as a Sparkle Boss, learned the company from the field, and now I have an opportunity to use this experience in a completely different role in the office.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

- Have a reliable, insured vehicle available for daily use

- Are physically able to perform residential cleaning, including bending, kneeling, reaching and lifting up to 25 pounds
