Wow, 2020 was quite the year! Don’t you think? Who would have thought we would ever witness and experience what we did in our lifetime? I know I certainly didn’t.

While last year brought several challenges, both personally and professionally, it always brought many beautiful things to light. Here are a few ways in which 2020 was a blessing:

Family

Last year allowed many of us to press pause on our lives. To be more present with our loved ones, create memories despite the circumstances, and appreciate everything we have.

We learned how precious life is and that things could change for us in a moment—teaching us to express our love for one another and appreciate each other more than ever before.

Life is too short, and as the saying goes, we’re all on borrowed time, so make the most of it!

Self-Care

Many of us were on lockdown at various times throughout the year due to the global pandemic. We stayed in and home to be part of the solution and not part of the problem. As a result, self-care practices became part of the new normal and fully appreciated because of it.

We now had the time to meditate in the mornings, go for a walk outside safely, exercise in our homes, cook healthy meals, and more. We saw the value and importance of taking better care of ourselves and our families.

Appreciation

Despite the chaos of the year, many learned to appreciate the little things. Yes, there may have been times when it all became too much to bear, and we wanted to crawl in a dark hole to hide from it all. However, overall, the pandemic changed us for the better or, in my opinion, anyway.

Parents learned to appreciate their children’s teachers and aids, as many had the joy of homeschooling their children when schools were closed.

They also learned how to juggle homeschooling with their career and embraced being able to work from home.

Families learned to appreciate their time together – Playing board games, reading, watching movies, exercising, and more together. We had more time than ever to spend together, and many made the most of it by picking up new hobbies or starting new ones, creating memories, learning a new skill, or took steps to fulfill a lifelong dream.

Adults and children both saw each other in a different light – Bringing more understanding, appreciation, and closeness for one another. It’s often the little things that often go unnoticed, but when confinement to your home is part of your reality, those little things soon become BIG. you take notice of all the things you may have forgotten or missed about another person, and you learn to adore them. Helping you see a person more deeply.

Proper Cleaning

I would be remiss if I didn’t discuss how we all learned how to clean our homes because of the pandemic properly. Now, more than ever, it’s essential to know how to clean, disinfect, and sanitize our homes. To take necessary safety precautions with our mail and groceries. Wearing masks in public, using hand sanitizers, and wiping down surfaces frequently to avoid the virus’s possible spread after an outing.

Maid For You was also able to utilize the downtime to learn more effective cleaning techniques in combatting the coronavirus and became certified to continue to service our customers with the highest quality cleaning available, ensuring that you, your family, and your home are safe.

In fact, we added a new service to our lineup, Coronavirus Cleaning and Flu Disinfecting as part of our continued efforts to stay abreast of the times and circumstances and keeping everyone safe from the virus.

In truth, our lives will forever feel the effects of 2020 and its impact. I won’t deny there was a lot of struggle and heartache that came fro

m last year, but I believe there has been a lot of good that has come out of it, that’s if you choose to see it!

As you embark on the new year, take a moment to pause, reflect, and seek to find the blessings that came from 2020 and express gratitude for them. What you choose to focus on will become your reality, so choose the good and amplify it!
